Ingram wedding - The Mill at Fine Creek

When I was contacted by Tony and Kristen to talk about wedding photographer for their upcoming wedding, I couldn't have been more excited. Combining one of my favorite local venues with amazing folks who I've known for a few years is about as good as it gets. The Mill at Fine Creek is absolutely stunning in March, with everything greening up and starting to bloom.

Although a threatening weather forecast moved their ceremony indoors, we were able to get in a first look and some stunning portraits of the couple on the rocks before the ceremony. Their intimate ceremony included the entire family, and the extended friends and family had a blast dancing and partying the night away.

Special thanks go to Nicole Vance for swapping places with me and supporting me as a second shooter - I couldn't have done it without her. (I frequently work as her second shooter over at Nicole Vance Photography.)

Starkweather - Family Portraits

There are some things that just make your heart sing - and this was one of them.
I knew the Starkweathers when they were just Mike and Monica - it's a long story with a lot of explanations descriptions, but let's just say that they fall under the category of BOTH friends and family. There are lots of years of history.
We met just before things got crazy at the holidays to sneak in a family session. M & M, along with their son Anderson and whippet pups Remington and Mouse met me at Mid-Lothian Mines Park in Chesterfield, VA.
Despite the park being busy with folks sneaking in their own sessions, we were able to snag a TON of great images. Here's a just a few of the MANY.

Carney- Family Portraits

I was contacted by the Carney family to capture their newly expanded family for Christmas cards and family gifts.

Despite crazy work and family schedules, we were able to coordinate a beautiful family session at their Powhatan, Virginia home. Windy cool temperatures challenged us a bit, but we were able to get some great family shots before their 11 week old Logan had enough. Joe, Tina, and Addy were troopers and we ventured out to get a few more photos.

Mini Session - Clark Family

I was so blessed during November to connect with several new clients.

One of those was the Clark Family, who were looking for a few family photos to use for Christmas cards. We met at Mid-Lothian Mines Park in Midlothian, VA for a quick mini session.

You can see the whole Clark Mini Session here.

Happy New Years

Happy New Years ya'll!

I hope everyone had an exciting and enjoyable holiday season. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to celebrate out first Christmas with A. And it'll only get better as the years go by and he can truly grow to love the magic of the holidays.

As many of you know, 2015 was a year of transition for me. After the birth of A, I left my full time job and moving into 2016, Melissa Timberlake Photography is now a full time job for me. Thank you so much to the folks who have supported me thus far... there are SOOOO many great things to come.

As the year passes, look for portrait sessions, weddings, racing and who knows what! I'm excited to grow this business and share my love of the art of using a camera.
